Spurs outcast Benoit Assou-Ekotto fined and banned for Quenelle support
Benny banned for three games. HOW ARE WE GOING TO COPE?
Benoit Assou-Ekotto has been suspended for three matches and fined by the FA for his support of Nicolas Anelka during last season’s Quenelle row.

The left back, then on-loan at QPR, described the gesture as ‘beautiful’ on twitter and said he would happily give controversial comedian Dieudonne M’bala M’bala a tour of the Lane.
In a statement, the FA said:
Benoit Assou-Ekotto has been suspended for three matches and fined £50,000, subject to any appeal, after he denied an aggravated breach of FA Rule E3.
The Tottenham Hotspur player was also warned as to his future conduct and ordered to complete a compulsory education course. He was also ordered to pay the full costs of the hearing.
The Chairman of the Regulatory Commission, Mr Peter Griffiths QC, said:
“Even though we have found that there was an aggravated breach of FA Rule E3 we are satisfied that when the Player sent the tweet on the 28th December 2013 congratulating Anelka, in his mind he believed he was congratulating Anelka on what he perceived to be an anti-establishment gesture as opposed to one associated with anti-Semitism.
But we are also satisfied of two further factors relevant to his culpability:
1) That he was certainly aware before he sent the tweet that the quenelle gesture was very much associated with Dieudonne; and
2) That he had, by then, acquired at least some knowledge of the controversies surrounding Dieudonne in the Autumn of 2013 and that these had included, rightly or wrongly, allegations concerning anti-Semitism.”
Earlier this year, Assou-Ekotto insisted he is anti-discrimination ‘in any form’ after being hit with the FA improper conduct charge.
So what does this decision mean for Spurs?
Absolutely nothing.
It has long since become clear that Assou-Ekotto, who has less than a year remaining on his current deal, will never play for Spurs again and he is not currently training with the club nor registered in our Premier League or Europa League squads.
This decision is simply a further vindication of the club’s decision to exile a player who is clearly disruptive and potentially damaging to the club’s global reputation.
LOL.
Вообщем Бенни твитнул в поддержку жеста Кенель и схлопотал бан и штраф.
Так же в тексте содержится инфа что клуб решил загнать Бенни под лавку и не доставать до конца контракта, которого осталось меньше года
