Alleged meeting did not take place, according to Radio Marca reporter.
Tottenham’s Daniel Levy did not meet Real Madrid president Florentino Perez in Miami to discuss the transfer of Gareth Bale, despite widespread reports to the contrary.
That’s the view of Madrid-based journalist José Luis Sánchez, who works for both La Sexta and Radio Marca – a organisation with extremely close ties to Los Blancos.
While the leading UK newspapers claimed Levy and Perez had met in Florida on Tuesday night, where the Spurs chairman has a property, during the Spanish club’s pre-season tour of the States, Sanchez took to twitter to reveal Levy is still blocking Bale’s departure and says the pair did not meet in person.
His tweet translates as: “Bale update: Florentino Perez left Miami without being face to face with Daniel Levy. Bale’s transfer is still blocked.”
Sanchez’s claims come just minutes after Perez told ESPN that “€100m is too much for any player”.
